We were contacted by the owner of this Bellevue contemporary home to provide design build remodeling and addition construction services. The owner wanted to make some interior floor plan changes, replace the windows and update the exterior cladding. She also had a second story waterproof deck she never used that she wanted to re-claim for interior living space. The project ultimately consisted of three bathroom remodels, a kitchen re-facing, converting the deck to interior living space, remodeling the main floor and upper floor plans, renovation/ replacement of most of the homes finishes and replacing all of the siding, windows and garage doors.
Some of the more noteworthy aspects of the project are: A large shower/steam room with body spray fixtures and caesarstone benches in the master suite. The kitchen base cabinets were refaced with purple heart wood and new purple heart upper cabinets with glass doors. Mosaic stainless steel tile was used as a full height back-splash that accents the new stainless steel hood. We installed an open joint siding system consisting of 1×4 clear cedar planks and 4’x4′ panels of Cembonit fiber cement accented with custom brake shape flashings and gutters. We also replaced the HVAC for the house and added a wood framed deck with trex decking.
There is more remodeling to come on this project. We are now replacing the entry steps with colored concrete retaining walls and concrete stairs with lighting in the toe kicks. We are currently waiting for a permit revision to add a detached bunker garage. The garage will not only provide additional covered parking and storage for the owner but will add more area for a level yard on this hilly lot.
